Privacy policy

GoDoor is a mortgage brokerage for investment properties with research tools built in. This policy says what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It covers godoor.co, the GoDoor app, and the GoDoor Chrome extension.

What we collect

What you give us. Your name, email address and password when you create an account; properties, addresses, rental figures, notes and ratings you add to your research board; the details you enter into a quote or a loan application, which can include the property address, purchase price, rental income, your credit range, and contact preferences; and messages you send us.

What the tools compute. Rate ranges, rent estimates, debt service coverage and similar figures we calculate for a property you ask about. These are estimates, not offers or commitments.

What we look up for you. When you ask for property records, comparable rentals or rent estimates, we send the property address (and beds, baths, size and type when you have them) to our data providers and keep their answers so the same address does not have to be looked up twice.

How you use the site. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps) and the cookies that keep you signed in. We do not run advertising trackers.

The Chrome extension

The extension shows a GoDoor badge on listing pages you open on zillow.com. It reads the page you are looking at only when you press a button in the badge, and only the listing itself: the address, price, beds, baths, size, type, photos and the listing’s own identifier. It sends that listing to your GoDoor account when you choose Add to Research Board, and sends the address and facts to our comps lookup when you choose Get comps or Get rent rate.

The extension does not read other pages, your browsing history, or anything on Zillow you do not act on. It keeps a sign-in token and the results of your own lookups in the browser’s extension storage so you do not have to run them again. Unlink it from the badge or the toolbar popup at any time; that revokes the token on our side too. It never sells or shares your data and does not use it for anything unrelated to its single purpose: saving listings and pulling rental figures into your GoDoor account.

Why we use it

To run the product you asked for: sign you in, keep your board, price your quote, answer your questions. To arrange financing when you ask us to, which means sharing what you gave us with the lenders and service providers involved in your loan. To keep the service working, safe and honest, including rate limits and fraud checks. To tell you about your quote or application by email. We do not sell personal information.

Who else sees it

Service providers who run parts of the product for us: hosting and databases, email delivery, property and rental data, payments when you buy something. Lenders, appraisers, title and closing partners, when you ask us to arrange financing. Authorities, when the law requires it. Each provider gets what its job needs and nothing more.

How long we keep it

Your account and board for as long as you keep the account. Quotes and applications as business records for as long as lending rules require, even if you close the account; the account link is removed and the record stays. Lookup results for up to thirty days. Server logs for a short, fixed period.

Your choices

You can see and change your account details in the app. You can delete your account from the account screen, which removes your profile and board. You can ask us at hello@godoor.co to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and we will answer within thirty days. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including under California law, and we honor them.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections and sits in a managed database with access limited to the people and systems that need it. Passwords are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, and if we learn of a breach affecting you we will tell you.

Children

GoDoor is for adults arranging investment property financing. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you by email or in the app.
